The burger joint debuted in 2002 as a secret venue inside the former Le Parker Meridien hotel (which has been transformed into the luxurious Thompson Central Park), and soon became a worldwide sensation. Hidden behind a floor-to-ceiling Wizard of Oz velvet red curtain in a hotel's lobby, a neon burger sign is all that denotes what lies beyond.
The burger joint was the first to start the burger craze.
